01. Driver requirements
The driver and any additional drivers must be at least 21 years old and must present at pickup an original valid ID (Qatar ID or passport) and an original driving licence valid for driving in Qatar. Photocopies and digital licences are not accepted. Additional drivers are free of charge but must be registered on the Rental Agreement before driving; only registered drivers are insured.
02. Driving licences accepted
Qatar residents must hold a valid Qatari driving licence; a home-country licence or IDP is not valid once a residence permit is approved. GCC residents may drive on a valid GCC licence for the duration of their Qatar visit visa. Visitors from other countries may drive on a valid home-country licence for the first 14 days after entry; beyond 14 days they must hold either an International Driving Permit together with the national licence (valid up to six months from entry) or a temporary Qatari driving licence, obtained from the General Directorate of Traffic by presenting the passport, visa, original licence and photos and passing an eye test (valid three months, rental cars only). It is the customer's responsibility to hold a valid licence for the whole rental period.
03. Reservation
The booking is for a vehicle category; a specific model is subject to availability and Al Muftah may provide a vehicle of the same or higher category. Bookings not collected within 24 hours of the scheduled pickup time without notice are treated as a no-show and one day's rental is charged.
04. Payment
All prices are in Qatari Riyal and include what is shown on the vehicle page. Payment is taken at pickup unless Al Muftah requests a card pre-authorisation or a prepayment link to secure the booking. Extras, delivery, one-way and deposit-free surcharges are as displayed at booking.
05. Security deposit
The deposit shown for the vehicle is taken at pickup as a credit-card pre-authorisation (released after return and reflecting within 30–45 days depending on the bank), or as a debit-card deposit of QAR 3,050 (QAR 3,000 refunded 30 days after return; QAR 50 processing fee), unless the deposit-free option with its daily surcharge has been selected. Fines, damage and other charges may be deducted from the deposit.
06. Cancellation
Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Cancellation within 24 hours of pickup, or failure to collect the vehicle, is charged one day's rental.
07. Insurance and excess
The vehicle is comprehensively insured. The customer is liable for the excess shown for the vehicle for each incident, unless Collision Damage Waiver is purchased, which reduces the excess to zero. A police report is mandatory for every accident and every damage, including own damage and tyre, windscreen, glass and undercarriage damage, with or without CDW. Without a police report the customer is liable for the full cost of repair. Interior damage is not covered.
08. Permitted use
Mileage is unlimited within Qatar. The vehicle may not be taken outside Qatar, driven off-road or on beaches, raced, used for commercial purposes, deliveries, ride-hailing or driving instruction, used to tow, or driven under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Smoking and pets are not permitted. Any breach voids insurance cover and makes the customer liable for all resulting costs.
09. Fuel
The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup; missing fuel is charged. Excess fuel is not refunded.
10. Traffic fines
All fines and violations during the rental are the customer's responsibility. Fines may be settled directly with the Traffic Department at no extra cost; where Al Muftah settles on the customer's behalf, an administration fee of up to QAR 100 per fine applies. Visitors must settle all fines before leaving Qatar.
11. Return, extension and late return
The vehicle must be returned at the agreed time and place. A grace period of 2 hours applies; beyond that, one additional full day is charged. Extensions must be approved by Al Muftah before the return time. Early returns are re-rated at the rate applicable to the actual rental length.
12. Condition on return
The vehicle must be returned in reasonable condition with all keys, documents and accessories. Excessive dirt, sand, stains or smoke odour are charged according to vehicle size. Lost keys and any recovery costs are charged to the customer. New damage found at the return inspection is handled in accordance with the Rental Agreement.
13. Accidents and breakdowns
In an accident the customer must call 999, obtain a police report and contact Al Muftah immediately, and must not arrange repairs without Al Muftah's authorisation. Roadside assistance is available 24 hours on +974 4481 0400 / +974 6651 5980.
14. Rental Agreement
The customer will sign Al Muftah's Rental Agreement at pickup. These Booking Terms, the FAQ and any Subscription Terms form part of the contract; in the event of conflict the Rental Agreement prevails. The contract is governed by the laws of the State of Qatar.
15. Personal data
Al Muftah may use the customer's personal data to process the booking, verify identity and licence, manage the rental, recover charges and fines, and comply with legal obligations, in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
16. Updates to these terms
Al Muftah may update these terms to reflect operational, legal or product changes. The version published on the website at the time a booking is confirmed applies to that booking; revised terms apply to future bookings.
